"Mr. Landwehr is the owner of the dogs that pulled the legless traveler, Morgan from place to place. They made their headquarters some days at the Linn Livery Stable. Morgan and his dogs attended the St. Louis Word's Fair and he died in the city that summer. As is his custom, he put up at a livery stable with his faithful dogs. He took suddenly sick, and when informed by the attending physician that he had but a short time to live, he handed the liveryman what money he had saved, amounting to about $60, with the request that he be properly buried and that a home be found for his dogs. The wish of the dying man was carried out. He was decently laid to rest. The dogs have found good home. Mr. Landwehr seems to think a good deal of them."
Building Homes
Frank Kicker built his own home in 1895. After that, he began building other homes in the communit for twenty-five cents per day. He built most of the homes in the town.
